Artist Statement

My art is an extension of the thoughts and ideas I get from daydreaming and the myriad of media I consume. From animated movies to manga, my inspiration derives from a constant need to bring the stories inside my head to life. With many references to diverse forms of media, my pieces are to be seen as snapshots from a greater tale, akin to taking a still frame out of a film. I strive to have a sense of serenity inside my art, to make the viewer feel the emotion and connect with the piece with their own story.

Inspirations

Many things influence my art, from, anime to my dreams. Everything around me affects my art, but my biggest inspirations are very important to me as they inspire me to create artwork and improve on my craft. My biggest inspirations are listed below.

  • Yoshitaka Amano (Artist)

  • Gilbert Williams (Artist)

  • Phil Hale (Artist)

  • Fullmetal Alchemist (Anime/Manga by Hiromu Arakawa)

  • Vagabond (Manga by Takehiko Inoue)
